Ken Chappy Hall Remodels and Mechanical Building Addition for the main campus of Central New Mexico (CNM) Community College includes substantial improvements to the learning environment. The general classroom facility received new ceilings, energy efficient lighting, upgraded restrooms, new roofing and new heating/cooling/ventilation systems. The separate and adjacent new Mechanical Building that houses the water chiller and boiler systems is designed and constructed as an educational demonstration piece for the Building Trades program that is housed in a nearby adjacent building. Material for the Mechanical Building includes exposed concrete and a large perforated metal aluminum screen wall to enclose the water-cooling towers. The mechanical units can be easily viewed through roll-up aluminum and glass garage doors.
