The original Socorro Springs Restaurant & Brewery had outgrown it original cramped quarters. The owner commissioned DWL/NM to design a new facility at a more visible location in Socorro along California Street. The goal of the project was to create three components that would combine to provide a great place to dine and try the many award winning beer selections. The restaurant menu features a variety of wood-fired Italian food. The bar features viewing of the stainless beer brewery components. Both bar and restaurant are complemented with adjacent outside dining courtyards. The building is constructed with an alternative material composed of recycled styrofoam blocks reinforced with an internal steel and concrete web. The interior is finished with Venetian Plaster, exposed stained concrete floors and an exposed wood truss roof structure.
